LEAD's Recap

This semester our brothers of Mu Rho attended LEAD School, or Leadership and Excellence Academies for Deltasigs. Brother Rosell-Perez gave us some valuable insight into what he learned!

What is LEAD’s exactly?

LEAD school is a conference held every Fall semester for each province of Delta Sigma Pi. As an active brother in the Mu Rho chapter at Colorado State University, I am part of the Western Province.

Where is LEAD’s?

This Fall, LEAD school was held in Albuquerque, New Mexico. However, the location of LEAD’s changes year to year. Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect in Albuquerque.

Why should anyone attend LEAD?

LEAD is important because it rejuvenated every reason for which I joined DSP. It showed me that it is more than just a club to join, it is a life-long commitment that can change people’s lives. Each person that I met, young or old, has been profoundly changed by DSP.

Throughout the event, my knowledge on how to run an organization effectively, how to recruit new members with a marketing mindset, how to motivate myself through hard times, and how to connect with everyone around me, improved in a way that made me want to stay involved with DSP forever.

What is unique about LEAD’s?

The chance to meet brothers from all over the country is an opportunity that I’ll never forget. I made friends with people who I felt an instant connection with. I can’t wait to see them again in the Spring!

What was your favorite part of LEAD’s?

My favorite part of LEAD was when I saw my President, Amanda Waters, walk up to the stage seven times for all the awards that we received. We were the most outstanding chapter of the whole province, as well as the chapter with the best community service and financial operations. Being recognized in front of the whole province made me want to try even harder. I set it as a goal for Mu Rho to achieve the same awards that we received this year, plus at least one additional award.
